THE ASTRONOT WINS BEST CANADIAN FEATURE FILM AT THE CANADA INTERNATIONAL FILM FESTIVAL

The Astronot film won the Rising Star Award for Best Canadian Film at the Canada International Film Festival in Vancouver.  The film was written by local screenwriter Pennan Brae & filmed in Oregon by Bend, Oregon filmmaker Tim Cash of Far From Earth Films.  The story takes place during the space race of the 1960s.  Daniel McKovsky is a recluse & loner who has no family in the area.  He metal detects during the day & stargazes at night.  It’s not until a young postal worker named Sandy walks up his driveway with a package in 1969 & into his life.  The pair shared everything from that time forward.  Daniel invited her to watch the moon landing together that historic evening in July 1969.  It was all Daniel wanted.  He was back on track & he just needed to stay there.  It was the life of The Astronot.
