The feature film screenplay for The Astronot by screenwriter Pennan Brae is an Official Finalist in Historical Drama at the Los Angeles Screenplay Contest. The idea for the screenplay, set between 1941-69, was born during a photoshoot with Pennan & Vancouver photographer Dan Jackson. Pennan was wearing an astronaut costume for an upcoming album cover. He was to stand beneath a full moon gazing longingly up at it. Just then Dan suggested Pennan hold an old ladder. The idea of someone wanting to go the moon but being inhibited in someway struck a chord with Pennan & the idea of The Astronot was born. He quickly called Tim Cash to discuss the idea & after many drafts, The Astronot began filming in Central Oregon.
